Every agency in this field is named after its founders or a made-up word. An address opening with the industry’s own initials is a small but real point of difference. PR7 reads as an agency, a network, or a platform. The number keeps it from being generic while giving it a modern, slightly technical edge, and the letters handle the positioning. It fits on a business card, an email signature and a pitch deck footer without being shortened.

Almost every company has a press room and almost all of them are badly built afterthoughts, because communications teams would rather not queue for engineering time. That’s a product category with real subscription revenue. The press room holds everything a journalist needs: releases, images, logos, executive bios, contact details. Hosted software serving that need sells itself once a comms manager has spent a week chasing an internal ticket. The name also suits a PR agency, a distribution service, a media contacts database, or a resource for communications professionals.

The -er ending makes this sound like a tool that does something rather than a category, which is the right register for a product rather than a directory. Mediapresser reads as an agent noun: the one doing media press work. It suits press release distribution, a media outreach platform, a PR agency, a journalist contacts service, or a pitching tool. Distribution is the most commercially interesting, since the incumbent wire services are expensive, widely resented, and increasingly questioned on whether they deliver anything measurable.

Releases follow strict conventions, most people write them badly, and it’s a well-defined problem. The writing tool reading is the one worth building. Different markets say press release, media release, or press media release, and this name covers all of them in one string. Distribution is the larger business. The wire services are expensive, the value they deliver is increasingly questioned, and plenty of communications teams would switch to something cheaper and clearer if it existed.

Agency naming is dominated by founders’ surnames and abstract coinages. A name making a claim stands out against both. Powerhouse does its own marketing. It means a source of great energy and, applied to an organisation, a reputation for consistently producing results. Attached to press it names a communications operation that gets coverage. The alliteration helps more than it seems: two P-words in sequence make the name easier to remember and pleasant to say, which matters for a business living on recommendation.

An espresso machine works by forcing water through under pressure. The press in this name is doing double duty, and unusually for a pun, the second meaning is mechanically accurate rather than merely phonetic. That gives a communications business something most agency names lack, which is warmth. The field runs on surnames and abstractions, and a name people enjoy saying is an advantage in an industry where work arrives by recommendation.
