Logistics supplies a second reading, where terminal-to-port and transport-to-point shorthand is standard trade vocabulary. The .net serves both, since neither a developer tool nor a freight platform loses anything by sitting on it.
Three characters is the shortest a domain can be while staying memorable rather than arbitrary, and the supply across every extension was fixed decades ago.
