There’s a trade-off buyers of short names face and it’s worth naming plainly. An acronym with established meaning brings recognition and brings baggage. A clean string brings neither.
ZGM is clean. No industry currently uses it, no company is building association around it, and nothing needs to be unlearned before a new meaning takes hold. For an organisation whose initials land here it’s simply the correct address. For one that wants a compact permanent mark, it’s a blank slate backed by permanent scarcity.
What the .org adds to a letter string is tone. The same three characters on a commercial extension read as a startup; here they read as a body whose full name people have shortened, which is how institutions are referred to anyway.
Three characters is the shortest practical length for a memorable domain, and the .org space at that length is almost entirely spoken for.
