prints.org
Printmaking has outlived every technology that was supposed to finish it off. Editions still sell, giclée reproduction built a whole industry, photographers sell directly to collectors, and museums license their holdings continuously.
The plural noun for all of that is available here. What makes a plural worth owning is that it’s how people talk when they’re browsing rather than buying: nobody searches for fine art paper reproductions, they search for prints. Owning the everyday word puts a business in front of the person who hasn’t decided yet.
The .org opens a second door. Print societies, artist-run cooperatives, museum collections and printmaking associations all live on that extension, and a digitised print archive under this name would read as authoritative from the first pageview.
It works as a marketplace, a printmaker directory, an editions platform, a gallery’s retail arm, or a scholarly collection.
